Calculus 4
Time: Monday, Wednesday, 1:10pm to 2:25pm.
Location: Room 203, Mathematics.
Textbook: Calculus Early Transcendentals (6th edition) by James Stewart.
Additional materials: Notes 1, Notes 2, Notes 3 by Robert Friedman.
Visual Complex Analysis by Tristan Needham.
Syllabus: Chapters 15, 16 from Calculus Early Transcendentals, and the notes by Robert Friedman on complex numbers (up to and including Section 3.2).
Grading: Homeworks 20% (the two lowest homework grades will be dropped) and max of (Midterm 30%, Final 50% and Midterm 35%, Final 45%).
There is a help room at Room 406, Mathematics and it is staffed 10am-7pm from Monday to Thursday and 12:30pm-5pm on Friday.
Calculators are not required and will not be allowed in exams. Homeworks are due on Mondays in a box opposite to Room 410, Mathematics. Late homeworks will not be accepted. Graded homeworks will be returned in class.
The midterm is on March 9. The syllabus is up to (and including) Section 16.3 of Stewart.
The
final exam is on May 9 from 1:10pm to 4pm at Room 203, Mathematics.
