Conformal blocks and complex Morse functions

We suggest how to use ideas from conformal field theory to
study symplectic four-manifolds.  This leads to a new look at
the Hard Lefschetz theorem and a conjecture of Tyurin
concerning vector bundles of conformal blocks.
