The Department is pleased to offer a number of opportunities for undergraduate students to engage in mathematical research activity outside of the normal course curriculum:

• Columbia Undergraduate Mathematical Modelling Workshop (CUMMW)
• Columbia Summer Undergraduate Research Experiences in Mathematical Modeling (CSUREMM)
• Columbia Math Undergraduate Summer Research (CMUSR)
• Directed Reading Program (DRP)
• Columbia Integration Bee

2025 important dates:

• Applications for the summer research programs CMUSR  and CSUREMM are due by 11:59 PM (EST) on Tuesday March 4, 2025.
  
• The 2025 Columbia Integration Bee will take place on Friday February 28 (qualifying round 4:30-6-30 PM) and Friday March 7 (final round at 5:00 PM). Register here.
• Columbia Math Modeling Contest (CMMC) will take place Monday, March 17, 5:00 PM – Thursday, March 20, 9:00 PM (EST).
• The Paris summer program will not be offered in 2025.
