Frobenius liftability of projective varieties

Since the proof of Kodaira vanishing by Deligne and Illusie,
the lifts of the Frobenius morphism played an important role in
positive characteristic and arithmetic geometry. In this talk, I will
discuss new results on the characterisation of projective varieties
admitting a global lifting of Frobenius. Furthermore, I will provide
applications of the theory to varieties with trivial logarithmic
cotangent bundle, and to Remmert-and-Van-de-Ven type problems. This is
based on a joint project with Piotr Achinger and Maciej Zdanowicz.
