Problem Sessions

I will hold problem sessions before each of our remaining exams:

• Tuesday, April 30, 7:00pm - 11:00pm

These problem sessions will be held in Altschul 202 (Barnard).

Exams

Including our final, there will be a total of four exams that determine the course grade.

• Exam 1 (20 pts), Tuesday, February 12
• Exam 2 (20 pts), Tuesday, March 12
• Exam 3 (20 pts), Tuesday, April 16
• Final (40 pts),
  • Tuesday, May 14, 9:00am - Noon (Section 003, 10:10am - 11:25pm class time)
  • Thursday, May 16, 9:00am - Noon (Section 002, 8:40am - 9:55am class time)

Please discuss other conflicts with me in advance of the exam in question. Under extenuating circumstances, exams can be postponed. Postponed exams must be taken within one week (by the Tuesday following a Tuesday exam). Missed exams will become grades of zero.

Textbook

You may use either edition (4e) or (5e) of Bretscher, the textbook our department has chosen for Linear Algebra. (5e) will be published on December 20, 2012; it is likely to have a greater resale value, but it is not available used. The Columbia University Bookstore will be stocking (4e), which is also available used.
