Outreach

In June 2025, I will be the keynote Speaker at May 12: Celebrating Women in Mathematics, “Shedding light on black holes” at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

In July 2022, I gave one the Public Lecture "Black Holes: A Mathematical Enlightenment" at the virtual International Congress of Mathematicians 2022, where I explained how mathematics helps the study of black holes, aimed to a general non-mathematical audience. You can find the video here.

I am the co-organizer of the Sonia Kovalevsky Day for middle school students at the Department of Mathematics at Columbia on October 2023 and 2024.

I have been the Guest Speaker at various events with elementary, middle and high school students:

  • "Women in STEM Club" at Davis Senior High School (CA), December 2020
  • "STEM Power April Conference" at Dominion High School (VA), April 2021
  • "Meet a Scientist" at Scuola d'Italia in New York City (NY), April 2023
  • "Meet a Scientist: Girls in STEM" at Todholm Public Elementary School in Paisley, Renfrewshire (UK), May 2023
  • MATHCOUNTS Manhattan (nationwide math competition for middle school students), New York City, Feb. 2025
