Relative Gromov-Witten invariants and tropical geometry

In complex geometry Caporaso and Harris have shown that the theory of
relative Gromov-Witten invariants can be used to compute the numbers of
plane curves of given genus g and degree d passing through 3d+g-1
general points. We will show how this result can be reinterpreted and
reproven in the language of tropical geometry.
