A Fifty Dollar Problem -- Dmytro Karabash, September 25, 2005

We will classify all bounded closed convex figures F for which the following is true: for all sets of 5 points in F, there exists a triangle formed by three distinct point in this set, such that the area of this triangle is greater than one forth of area of F.  This is a Fifty Dollar Problem posed 15 years ago in Soifer's "How Does One Cut a Triangle".  I will finish the talk with many other interesting questions about Soifer-Erdos function.
