In this talk, Prof. Gallagher will give examples of some of the most 
elegant and simple proofs. The talk should be accessible to anyone. The term 'Proofs from The 
Book' was coined by Paul Erdos as a reference to proofs which were so elegant that they would be included in a final book 
on mathematics, if one is ever written.
