What can pictures tell us about representations of Lie algebras? I want to give a quick introduction to categorification. As a concrete example, I want to talk about the adjoint representation of sl_2 and sl_3 and how it is related to the diagrammatic algebra constructed by Prof. Khovanov and Prof. Lauda. I will give a quick introduction to the matrix lie algebra sl_n and its representation.
