Homotopy and Cohomology -- Atanas Atanasov

Homotopy theory is often viewed as an advanced topic in algebraic topology, so it is covered fairly late in most standard courses. We will briefly discuss a sample of homotopy theory by presenting the basics, and as time allows some connections with cohomology. This track involves a showcase of useful topological tools -- suspensions, loop spaces, Eilenberg-MacLane spaces, some category theory and more. Knowledge of the subject will not be assumed.

The talk should be modestly accessible -- basic topology recommended.
