Groups are a fundamental object which occur throughout mathematics. Although traditionally these objects arise "algebraically", we will describe a way of thinking about them "geometrically". We will provide an introduction to this geometric point of view and some of its applications.
The talk should be accessible to everybody (elementary algebra required).
