Continued Fractions, Their Properties and Applications -- Mohammad Moinul Haque, August 2, 2004

In this talk, I will be discussing continued fractions, a topic in elementary number theory, and some of their interesting properties and applications. In particular, continued fractions provide us with a different way of expressing real numbers that is revealing in many ways. For example, just a few applications of continued fractions include the infinitude of rational triangles with consecutive integer sides and the uncountability of the reals.
