We will prove the Lindemann-Weierstrass Theorem, which says that the exponents of a finite number of distinct algebraic numbers are linearly independent over Q. As a corollary we prove that e and pi are transcendental. Galois theory will be used, but the basic definitions and theorems required will be stated for those without the background.
